After completing the apprenticeship through attending the Climate Seminar and Mai Po Wetland Field Trip, we believe all Climateers Ambassadors will have gained a basic understanding and knowledge of climate change and low carbon living!

We launch the "Low Carbon Community Initiative" Proposal Design Competition to provide a platform for all Climateers Ambassadors to submit their low carbon ideas. Each proposal should include a method of carbon reductions and, more importantly, how the method can be effectively disseminated to and utilized by the community. Along with the Ambassadors, we will be selecting outstanding proposals to be implemented in the community.
 
Submission Date: 24 January to 9 February, 2011
Eligibility： Participants who have officially become "Climateers Ambassadors" (i.e. completed all the Experiential Items and Action Items) can enter the competition as individual or in group (2 to 6 ambassadors).
Theme:
"Low Carbon Community Initiative"
The low carbon activity will be designed for a group of 30 to 40 participants in the neighbourhood. Each proposal cannot exceed 1,500 words (Chinese) or 2,500 words (English).
The selected "Most Outstanding Proposal" will be implemented in March by the winning individual / group with the assistance of WWF-Hong Kong and other supporting organizations.
The budget for implementation is HK$10,000.
Each "Climateers Ambassador" or participating group can submit more than one proposal
Proposal Content:
Each proposal cannot exceed 1,500 words (Chinese) or 2,500 words (English), and must cover the following areas:
Name of the activity
Objectives
Activity Date (12 March or 13 March, 2011)
Target audience/participants
Details of the activity
Work flow & schedule
How will you / your group implement the event?
Budget breakdown
Your name, email address and phone number
Proposal should be submitted in specified format and the file should be in Microsoft Word format. Pictures/graphics/photos can be used as long as the whole file size is less than 5MB.
 
Submission Method:
Please email the proposal as an attachment to climateers@wwf.org.hk, with the email subject "Participating in the "Low Carbon Community Initiative" Proposal Design Competition".
Judging Criteria:
"Most Outstanding Proposal" will be selected by the judges. The judging criteria will be based on:
1. Feasibility of implementation by the winning individual / group (40%)
2. Creativity (30%)
3. Ability to influence others to practice low carbon living (30%)

Most Outstanding Proposal: Sai Kung District (1 winner),
Wan Chai District (1 winner)

Prizes:
"Participation Award":
(Each ambassador can only receive this award once)
All the participants will be awarded HK$300
worth of energy efficient electrical appliances coupons
(Limited supply until stock lasts.)
   
“Most Outstanding Proposal” Award：
Winner/the winning group will be awarded an iPad (worth HK$3,888)
Results Announcement: Results will be published on our website in March 2011. Winners will be notified individually by phone and being arranged to implement the winning initiative in March.
